Why didn't the landing operation take place on the Bosphorus?

Even during WWI when Britain and Russia were allies the Government of the British Empire pursued a policy of "containment" of Russia. Actually the Dardanelles Campaign of the Allies was to prevent the capture of the Strait by Russia. In the summer of 1915 British diplomacy played a leading role in preventing the landing of Russian troops and the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Bosphorus. In 1916 Anglo-French diplomacy prevented such an operation under the pretext of negotiations about the entry of Rumania into the war. The defeat of the Rumanian Army by the army of the German Block forced the Russian commanders to use its troops, which were intended to conduct the Bosphorus Operation, to rescue Rumanian Statehood. The desire to prevent Russian control over the Strait was one factor in the involvement of British diplomacy and secret services in the overthrow of the monarchy in Russia. Implementation of the Landing Operation on the Bosphorus in 1917 was foiled by the February Revolution. The ability to force the Ottoman Empire to peace and end the world war was missed.
