From the history of the preparation and conclusion of the agreement between the USSR Government and the Polish Government in exile on julY 30, 1941 (the pages of I.M. Maysky's diary)
The article focuses on the history of the preparation and conclusion of the Agreement between the Government of the USSR and the Polish Government in exile in London on July 30, 1941, for the establishment of diplomatic relations and the joint struggle against Nazi Germany. This Agreement was the result of tough negotiations conducted simultaneously in London and Moscow. They were directly affected by the complicated relations between the Polish government in exile and the Soviet authorities, with the situation becoming tougher when in September 1939 the territories of Western Ukraine and Western Belarus returned to the Soviet Union. After a series of discussions, the sides finally signed the variant of the agreement developed in Moscow with the participation of I. Stalin. The British diplomacy led by Anthony Eden played an active role in the Soviet-Polish talks.
