The geopolitical confrontation between the Slavic and Romano-Germanic peoples

The article examines the plot of European history related to the long-term geopolitical confrontation between the Slavic and Germanic-Roman peoples caused by the expansion of the latter into the lands of the Slavs. This confrontation began with the division of the Roman Empire into Eastern Greek and Western Roman in the Late 4th century AD, and deepened after the division of the Christian Church into Eastern Orthodox and Western Catholic in the 9th - 11th centuries. The Slavs were mostly under the influence of the Patriarch of Byzantium, while the Germans were under the influence of the Catholic pope. The Catholic crusades against Byzantium, the Slavic and Baltic tribes intensified the hostility. The subjugation of most of the Byzantine possessions and Slavic Lands by the MongoL-Turkic conquerors in the 13th-15th centuries separated the eastern and southern Slavs from Europe and made them part of the Eastern world. The return of Russians to European politics took place only in the 17th century, when Muscovy, having become the strongest part of the Juchi Ulus, subjugated almost all the rest of its lands and regained sovereignty, despite the opposition of its Islamic and Catholic neighbors. During the 18th and first half of the 19th centuries, the Russian Empire engaged as an active and influential participant in European affairs, extending its power and presenting itself as a patron of Slavic populations. However, a period of setbacks and military defeats followed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, largely attributable to the country's slow modernization and anachronistic political structures. The Bolshevik ascent to power initiated a rapid and forced modernization, which ultimately enabled the Soviet Union to defeat Nazi Germany and its European allies, achieving unprecedented global influence in the subsequent decades. Ultimately, the failure to modernize the Soviet mobilization-based economic model and its rigid political system led to the dissolution of the socialist bloc, the collapse of the USSR, and the loss of most Bolshevik-era geopolitical gains. Russian elites have now set the task of “the final solution of the Russian question,” that is, the destruction of Russia and the Russians as a people. To this end, a hybrid war is being waged against the peoples of Russia by the hands of the Ukrainian Nazis and the means of the Russophobic union of fifty states. A new mobilization of all the country's forces and resources is needed to repel aggression.
