Great Patriotic War in daily history of the cities of the Russian province: on the example of Yelets - "the cities of military glory"

In article, on the example of the city of Yelets, the Lipetsk region - "The Cities of Military Glory", reflection of history of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the history of the cities of the Russian province and their inhabitants is considered. In article basic provisions of the organization of life of Yelets during 1941-1945 and a contribution of his inhabitants to "the Great Victory" are analyzed. The special attention is paid to the organization of defense and liberation of Yelets, activity of executive committee of city council of deputies, preparation of the guerrilla movement and resistance, work on expansion of military medical hospitals, features of work of the local enterprises of a national economy during the considered period and to a personal contribution of residents to a victory over the enemy in this war. The characteristic "Yelets offensive operation" and its values in the light of the first period of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and fight for Moscow of 1941-1942 is separately submitted on December 6-16, 1941.
