The verbal constants in the rituals of Tuvinians in Russia, China and Mongolia

The paper analyzes, for the first time in the comparative-correlative aspect, the verbal constants in family and calendar rituals of Tuvinians in Russia, China and Mongolia. The author has examined two groups of ritual texts: obligatory verbal formulas ( algyshyoreel -benevolence, chalbaryg -spell) as well as the ritual participants’ replicas, cries and exclamations inherent in the all-Tuvinian folklore tradition. She has revealed the cases of including small speech genres (proverbs, sayings, idiomatic expressions) into the structure of ritual texts, analyzed the functions of words in rituals; characterized the actional code of the rites, identified an intimate connection between actional and verbal components, The author comes to the conclusion that the verbal elements of the rituals of the three Tuvan groups have common motives, that many sustainable formulas of the three groups coincides, and the orientation of the verbal texts is generally pragmatic.
