The reconsideration of fairy-tale motifs in the tale «Bakhariana» written in verse by by M.M. Kheraskov
The paper covers the late, insufficiently studied work by one of the out-standing Russian literary men of the 18th century – the fairy tale «Bakhariana, or The Unknown» written in verse. The author retraces how or-ganically M.M. Kheraskov makes use of a typically fairy- tale plot with ad-ventures and transformations for an allegorical representation of spiritual self-perfection and moral regeneration of man.
