Entomological images in fantasy: H. Wells and A. Tolstoy

In the paper an attempts is made to uncover the peculiarities in the func-tioning of images of insects in science fiction. The research is based on the works of H. Wells and A. Tolstoy, which provide a wide range of entomo-logical connotations in fiction, involving cultural, social, scientific, technical and other spheres.
