In this review, the collective monograph is presented as the first integrated, multidisciplinary research into the sound systems of the endangered languages of Siberian peoples. The research has been done using advanced high precision technologies. A large quantity of objective material belonging to the field of experimental phonetics has been introduced, and significant adjustments have been made in the theory of articulatory-acoustic bases. The results of the studies on the consonant articulations in the Turkic languages of Southern Siberia testify to the presence of integrating and differentiating signs both in the inventories of consonants and in their structural-taxonomic organization based on somatic parameters of phoneme implementations and their corresponding acoustic correlates. The value of the research consists in the possibility to use the data of instrumental phonetics as one of the informative historical and linguistic sources for reconstructing the history of languages and ethnic groups, which is especially important when solving the problems of the glottogenesis of unwritten languages of Siberian peoples.
