Bi-predicative constructions with the index of the Dative case in the text of Yakut heroic epos «Olonkho»
The paper considers the structural and functional features of the bi-predicative constructions of the Yakut language with the marker of the Dative case used in the text of the Yakut heroic epos «Olonkho». It has been ascertained that in an epic text the constructions under investigation usually function as parts of poly-predicative sentences (polynomials) and in parallelisms. They also participate in expressing epic formulas and complex syntactical units. Bi-predicative constructions with a dependent predicate in the dative case of impersonal declension are functioning as object clauses and serve as syntactical means of expressing the semantic category of evidentiality. Temporal constructions with the dative case of the personal-predicative declension are correlative with the constructions where the dependent predicate is expressed by the second form of the conditional mood. Some constructions with the dative case are replaced by constructions with the accusative case, which is connected with the variable character of the functioning of these constructions in the epic text.
