The concept of human being in the Yakut language
The paper deals with the means of verbalization of the concept of human being in the Yakut language . The semantics of the word kihi is analyzed. The main conceptual models of the man are identified through the observation of lexical meaning, derived forms, collocations, synonyms and antonyms of the word. Language data allow creating a human model based on gender marking and national identity. The human being is represented as an ideal: “perfect being,” “standard,” “noble,” “insider,” “emotional person” with a set of positive and negative qualities. The criteria for the qualities of a human being are the equality and the norms accepted in society. A good man is opposed to the bad person whose behavior goes beyond the conventional. Therefore, the man has the following characteristics: insider, kind, respected, sociable, human and constant. Its antithesis is the image of the stranger, a poor, not respected, and despised by society. A man always has a choice between good and evil. Overall, the Yakut language represents the syncretic image of the epic (pagan) and modern man having adopted the features of the Christian worldview.
