Innokenty Annensky's translations

Leconte de Lisle is a name, without which it is impossible to discover French symbolism in the reception of Annensky. Charles Leconte de Lisle (1818-1894) is a French poet and translator, a hellenist, known in the literature as the head of literary movement ''Le Parnasse contemporain''. It is important that researchers agree that Annensky's thoughts about the literary works of Leconte de Lisle are the starting point for the development of the Russian poet's own exciting ideas. The article reveals Annensky's creative reception strategy of major aesthetic Leconte de Lisle's ideas on understanding the culture movements, and their further transformation by the Russian poet in aesthetics and creative work. Annensky noticed Leconte de Lisle, who was spiritually and conceptually close to Annensky. The priority in understanding Annensky's reception of the French poet's creativity is that Leconte de Lisle did considerable things in the area fundamental for Annensky: ancient literature and its reflection. The French poet brought the ancient myth into poetry and drama. For Annensky as a theorist of literature there invariably existed a single culture process with universal artistic images, which served as the base of the following conceptual chain: the myth - antiquity - French culture. Myth as a perfect area of artistic consciousness produces antiquity - the highest culture source, which subsequent cultural sections inherit somehow, and mostly French, which is associated with the original as cognate. The French poet's creative works fit well into the logic of the Russian poet. Annensky considers Leconte de Lisle's aesthetic principles at different levels. On the broadest level, Leconte de Lisle is the spokesman, and even the founder of a new cultural phenomenon - "neohellenism" raising the heroic, high, conceptual meaning of literature. Annensky's and Leconte de Lisle's point of contact is located in Antiquity. The overall picture of their creativity contact helps to explain the existence of Renaissance ideas concerning the Slavic world in Annensky's literary thoughts. Annensky comes to the idea of Slavic revival connecting it "with the future, with desire, with the dream" and calling it a union, a synthesis. It was extremely important for Annensky that contemporary literature follows Antiquity. However, Annensky does not remain an accurate follower of the French poet . For example, the proof that the French poet only gave cultural development to Annensky can be his new understanding of the functioning of the myth in a modern environment.
