Lexicographic method and its application in the research of dialect synonymy

This article is devoted to the description of lexicographic method and its application by making the Dictionary of SSynonyms of the Siberian Dialect (the dialect of Vershinino village located in Tomsk Oblast - one of the oldest dialects of the Middle Ob River area). The lexicographic method as a productive method of linguistic analysis consists in the systematic inventory of units of language by means of lexicography (the term is introduced by O. Blinova). In this article the characteristics of the lexicographic method are considered: 1. The subject of research by means of the lexicographic method is different elements of structure of the language: a word and its meaning (explanatory dictionaries), semantic relations (dictionaries of antonyms, synonyms etc.), the properties of the word (dictionaries of expressive, evaluative vocabulary). 2. The use of different approaches in studying the language: 1) the research of different temporary cuts (modern, historical, etymological dictionaries); 2) different aspects of the research (the comparative aspect in comparative multilingual dictionaries, the stylistic aspect in dictionaries of language of the writer, etc.). 3. Any scientific method is developed on the basis of the theory that is its prerequisite. The lexicographic method is in the indissoluble communication with the lexicography. 4. The lexicographic method uses general scientific methods of collecting the material, the procedure of interpretation, the procedure of the component, contextual analysis, the procedure of introspection, etc. The special procedure of the lexicographic method is cartography (drawing up card files), the procedure of lexicography (making a synonymic entry at the heart of which lies the structural-semantic analysis of words identical or similar in meaning), the procedure of writing definitions and modeling dictionary entries, the procedure of "lexicographic parametrisation", using various marks. 5. The existence of a special way of the description of the received results (the dictionary is also a method and a way of the description of language, and its main result). The dictionary entry is a special composite and communicative unit of the dictionary and it has universal characteristics. The conception of ''The dictionary of Siberian dialect synonyms'' is offered by O. Blinova. The microstructure of the dictionary is defined by the structure of the entry that includes three zones: initial, interpretative and illustrative. The interpretative zone is presented by the interpretation of the dominant meaning and by semasiological, culturological, lexicological, grammatical characteristics of synonymic row components. Due to the lexicographic method it was succeeded to present the lexical wealth of the Siberian dialect. In the conclusion advantages of the lexicographic method are characterized: 1) the fullest coverage of the lexical wealth of the Siberian dialect; 2) the systematization on the basis of the chosen criterion; 3) the multidimensional interpretation of synonyms; 4) the interrelation with the theory; 5) the high degree of informational content of the dictionary.
