Specificity of the regional literary collection in the Siberian book space in the 19th century
The research is performed within the bibliographic direction in philology which has been successfully developing in the recent years. The research is focused on regional literary collections of the 19th century displaying common features with the literature of the centre as well as specific features characteristic of Siberia, which conditions the timeliness and novelty of the research. The description and analysis of the material is made in terms of cultural transfer, a most important and popular category of modern science, as the processes in book publishing in Siberia directly reflected all-Russian tendencies. The research employs the systematic analysis of materials that covers not only the content and its aesthetic peculiarities, but also the interrelation between text and paratext (G. Genette). The series of Siberian literary collections, discovered in the course of research, have been introduced into scientific use and included into the upcoming bibliographic inventory. The specificity of the growing literary and book publishing process in Siberia was that the first Siberian editions in the late 18th century were not newspapers but magazines, similar to local history collections, for instance those by P. Suma-rokov and G. Spasskiy. The 1840-50s showed an apparent failure in Siberian literary and book publishing industry. However, that time brought about 'oblastniki' (regionalists), which was a very positive phenomenon in Siberian socio-cultural development. The key ideas of regionalists included patriotism and formation of local literature. The collections about Siberia at this period (for instance, those by A. Stukenberg and D. Davidov) have a definitely intermediate character related to new collections of classical type and the notion of the "author's / multi-authored collection". Only in the second half of the 19th century the provincial book develops its form as well as genre diversity. Due to the constant growing of Siberian publishing, some periodicals undertake their own publishing projects, as is the case with collections "Siberia", "Siberian motives", published in Moscow and ST. Petersburg, and "Siberian echoes" published by Mikhailov and Makushin in Tomsk. In terms of type and genre they are variants of scientific and local study publications, the charity collection, and Siberian poetic anthology. The most significant publishing project at the turn of the 20th centuries was a scientific and literary supplement to Yadrintsev's "Vostochnoe Obozrenie", known as "Siberian collections" that was published for twenty years in St. Petersburg and Irkutsk. It was a regional collection of the universal type, which would later become a very productive model for further development of the genre of literary collection in the book space of Siberia.
