Music and sound characteristics of the samples of classicism architecture of Barnaul as a formation factor of the artistic-associative landscape of the city

Barnaul classical architecture is a kind of a "calling card" of the city and one of the most valuable attributes of its cultural heritage, which causes this research interest. Architectural classicism has a rich history and close ties with the art of music; moreover, it has a theoretical platform proposed by F.W.J. Schelling. The architecture of Barnaul, in the style of classicism, clearly shows all the rhythmic manifestations F.W.J. Schelling specified, which allows to make the first conclusion about the presence of music in this part of the architectural heritage. The fundamental principle of any order system is Doric, so, initially, I should refer to its musical performance. By F.W.J. Schelling, three orders of columns relate to each other as rhythm, harmony and melody. Doric Barnaul is quite rare. Its elements can be seen in the architecture of the building of the mountain hospital and of the Youth Theater. The analysis of the data structures leads to a conclusion that the musical characteristics of the architectural elements, by their rhythmic characteristics, destroy the static character of the buildings and turn them into a moving, evolving system of signs. The character corresponding to the Doric order allows talking about moderate tempo characteristics relating to the whole space of the intended sound. The presence of smooth (ostinato) columns suggests the character of the texture. The Ionic order of Barnaul architecture is little presented, for example, in part, it occurs in the form of columns in the elements of the house with a spire (Lenin Prospect, 82), house (Lenin Prospect, 29), the Pioneer House (Pioneer St., 2); as pilasters: house (Lenin Prospect, 72), the house of the head of the mining district (Lenin Prospect, 18), the trading house "I.D. Laletin and Sons" (Malo-Tobolskaya St., 34 (1907)). The dominant majority of Barnaul buildings in the classical style tend to the Corinthian style, or to the synthesis of the elements from different ordering systems. In the architectural heritage of Barnaul, the Corinthian order is fairly wide, which itself can be specific (including music). Barnaul architecture in the classical style can be called predominantly melodic as the Corinthian order is always combined with something else. Examples of the use of such forms are the building of the Altai State Academy of Culture and Arts, the District Court, the Chemistry Building of ASU, the Construction College. The music and sound analysis of the architectural elements of the buildings in the classicist style allows to draw a general conclusion that the musical character is a property of classicist architecture. In addition to this, it is possible to identify its common features: a three-part equilibrium, symmetrical shape; dynamics, increasing toward the center; homophonic harmonic, orchestral texture; dominance of rhythmic elements (tutti, chord texture, percussion, etc.) and melodic elements (Corinthian order) in the central zone; lack of unisons (duplication of columns with pilasters). On the basis of these general features in the cultural landscape of the city of Barnaul there is a general associative territory that destroys the static architecture and encourages the recipient to an active creative position, which is important in the contemporary cultural situation.
