Music and sound potential of wooden architecture in organizing the cultural landscape of the city of Barnaul
The cultural landscape of the city in its associative component may be formed on the basis of a set of attributes. We have chosen the music and sound approach to the selection of attributes that allows one to make the cultural landscape of the city dynamic, changeable, mobile and multi-valued. Analysis of the core set of characters and attributes of ornament clearly indicates its global character and philosophy. Address to the traditional understanding of the world order led to some conclusions: any phenomenon of the world in its elements is essentially musical and pictorial, as it is connected with sound and light, ornament is the air or ultralight light (Brahma), music (sound) and picturesque (light) at the same time. Any pattern, as is well known, captures regularities of the world and is the frequency (meter, rhythm, tempo, time, etc.) of the changes of the phenomena of the world, so ornament is a consistently growing chain(s) of sounds with different tempo, meter and rhythm characteristics. The color set of any ornament is predetermined; with a set of color and ornament owning the code of translation of color into the sound, one can basically get a notation of the analyzed ornament. The images of waterfowl, fire, sun, etc. that often occur in the elements of wooden decor of Barnaul architecture have specific musical analogs. The analysis of music and sound characteristics of different samples of wooden decor in Barnaul shows that the Altai specifics has a new feature of a specific sound which gives it, among other things, the dynamic and volatile character. The decor of wooden architecture of the city of Barnaul has abundant opportunities for the formation of a novation musical sound component of the cultural landscape of the city, its associative part. On the one hand, wooden ornaments of buildings are the basis for the establishment of new areas (territories) based on the commonality of the possible sound of these elements of architecture. As a result of this approach, the cultural landscape of the city becomes a mobile, creative, educational environment for visitors and residents. On the other hand, these areas may show small, hidden cycles presented by buildings in the decoration of which there is a dramatic development. Stronger links between elements of arising cycles make the cultural landscape of this place more prominent, attractive for interpretation, further research and perception as a whole.
