The emotional component of independence of young academic staff successful in research and education activities at different stages of professional growth
The aim of the empirical research was the revealing of the connection between the emotional component of independence and success in the professional activity of academic staff at different stages of professional formation (at the stage of postgraduate study, after defending the candidate's and doctor's thesis). The sample is represented by young academic staff of Chelyabinsk State University and other universities: post-graduates (55 people), candidates of sciences aged up to 32 (32 people) and doctors of sciences aged up to 40 (26 people). In the process of research there were found the emotional features specific to the academic staff with high effectiveness of professional activity at the stage of postgraduate study and after defending the candidate's and doctor's thesis which characterize the emotional component of independence presented by such characteristics as null depression that allows to preserve working capacity; optimal level of anxiety, patience, sequence of actions; average level of aggressiveness; emotional stability that reduces the negative influence of the strong emotional pressure, prevents stress, stimulates the display of readiness to act in tense situations. This is one of the psychological factors of reliability, effectiveness and success of activity in the extreme surrounding. The similarity of emotional peculiarities of successful academic staff at different stages of professional growth testifies to the stability of the connections between the emotional component of independence and success in the professional activity. It is important to describe the peculiarities of the emotional sphere which were discovered in the conducted research. For young candidates of sciences successful in the research and educational activities it is typical to have assertiveness, self-sufficiency, braveness, appetite for risk, independence and self-assurance. For the young doctors of sciences successful in their professional activity it is typical to tend to communication in the whole with the developed empathy that allows better understanding people and interacting with them. The found connections between the emotional component of independence and success at different stages of professional growth can become a base for the psychological help in the professional and personal growth and development of academic staff. The connections can also be considered during the psychological selection and prediction of professional success of those planning their career in the higher school.
