Efficient forms of sports and recreation activities in a university: Russian and foreign experience
The problems of organization of physical culture and sports and recreational activities in the universities of our country acquires a new format in terms of introduction of modern educational standards and changes of requirements that students as consumers of educational services impose. As a social component, university's granting of the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle, to exercise often acts as a competitive advantage when an applicant chooses this or that educational institution. In this paper, we attempt to analyze the most effective domestic and foreign experience in organizing sports and recreational activities in institutions of higher education in order to develop new approaches to the very concept of the activity in the university at the present stage of modernization of the educational system. The course of physical education in higher education involves the following tasks: first is the development of future specialists' high volitional, moral and physical qualities, which should contribute to increased productivity. An equally important task is to strengthen and maintain the health of young people, increase their efficiency in education. With the introduction of FSES 3+ educational standards there is an additional need for the implementation of the theoretical component of the discipline "physical culture" for the non-core areas. In order to identify the positive experience of effective sport and recreation activities we have considered the system of physical education organization in German universities. During the study of the forms of sports and recreation activity organization in German universities, we came to a conclusion that an important element that makes the system efficient is a variety of opportunities to meet the needs of students in physical activity. In this paper we have also analyzed the organization of sports and recreation activities in Tomsk State University (Tomsk, Russia). Currently, the main form of students' physical activities is the process of physical education. At present, the university has sections and clubs of 30 sports in which more than 1,000 students and staff of TSU are engaged in high-level sports. In order to assess the quality of the organization of sports and recreation activities in the university and its efficiency, a survey was conducted among students. The article highlights the main factors influencing the motivational aspects of sports and recreational activities, which will be taken into account in the design of an innovative concept of university students' physical activity implementation.
