Time management in the humanities knowledge
The urgency of the discussed issue is caused by the role of time in the modern world. The problem is the limited amount of time for one life, the need to share it into two unequal parts at first sight. Natural man comes to the problem of time, to questioning about the time with the actual problem of lack of time, which affects the efficiency and productivity, or with a more abstract question about the fullness, meaning of life. The main aim of the study is to describe time through the prism of philosophy and management. The results of the study are as follows. Communication between different areas of knowledge will enrich the solution. Different methodologies lead to intersected results. The idea of time in modern philosophy is similar to the idea of time in management. Differences may be in lexical and stylistic features of the areas, their languages. The continuity of time, the impact of the future on the present, the types of value of time, the acceleration of time (properties of time) entail the necessity of time management which is reflected in setting priorities, postponing unnecessary activities, preserving free time, easy multitasking. To act in accordance with these principles is easier in a polychronic mode. Polychronicity is defined as 1) the extent to which people in a culture prefer to be engaged in two or more tasks or events simultaneously and 2) the belief their preference is the best way to do things. of course, monochronicity and polychronicity are not the only option, rather there are infinite degrees, starting with absolute monochronicity and ending with absolute polychronicity. The idea of polychronicity constructed as a cultural time is transferred to the social and individual levels, because individual preferences may differ from cultural norms. Also, polychronicity is the most fundamental aspect of human relations, including relations of the leader and the followers. The idea of polychronicity hides a potential for cognition of time. If time properties are mainly the result of philosophical investigations, the maxims are the result of the theory of time management. Natural man can not be reduced to the concrete, the everyday, the practical or only to the abstract and the categorical. Time-management without subjectivity does not necessarily provide success and sense of accomplishment, as well as abstract without action. Polychronicity includes the ability to immediately perceive and evaluate objects, wholeness of the perception of information, the flow of information, the ability to work with many channels at once, and in a lack of information to recover the whole by its parts.
