Asian direction of education policy of Australia

One of Australia's policy priorities is full integration in the Asia-Pacific region. One of Australia's leading exports is educational services for international students amounting to $ 15.743 billion in 2013-2014, and occupying the fourth place in the country's exports. The main consumers of Australian educational services are the Asia-Pacific countries; they make a significant contribution to the Australian economy. For example, in 2014 China paid $ 4.142 billion for educational services provided by Australia. All Australian universities provide courses designed for foreign students. Australia's laws guarantee the quality of education and the protection of students who come from abroad. The educational system in Australia has experienced three stages of internationalization. The first stage was in the 1950s. The second stage was in the 1980s. And the third wave of internationalization of higher education in Australia is right now. The main reasons why international students come to Australia are safety guarantees, high-quality education and the opportunity to develop their own country. Australian universities have branches and representative offices in many countries of Asia, where the local population is trained for offshore educational programs based on the country universities which have signed the agreement. Training is conducted according to Australian educational standards and both an Australian university and college partners are responsible for the provision of educational services. Australian universities have collaborated with 31 outside universities and use 821 offshore curricula. Australian universities are using franchising contracts. As a result, the responsibility for the quality of education is taken by the university which has acquired Australian curricula. Australia's policy in the field of internationalization of education has stimulated the integration educational processes throughout the Asia-Pacific region. In many countries, major reforms have been conducted and centers are founded to carry out mutually beneficial educational and scientific exchange. The Australian program of export of educational services oriented on Asia-Pacific countries contributes to the economic development of the region, at the same time bringing the country billions of dollars in revenue.
