The history of student groups: to the question
The main problem that the author highlights is the need to reconstruct the history and preserve traditions. The main purpose of the present article is to draw public attention to the history of student construction brigades, which is one of the methods of mobilizing the youth of the USSR in the period of socialist construction. On 12 January 1925, the Organising Bureau of the RCP (b) adopted a special resolution on the immediate tasks of the university, which indicated that the practice should be, above all, "to introduce students to the understanding of the environment and the conditions in which they would have to work." The movement of construction student teams received the greatest development during the period of cultivation of virgin lands, large-Union buildings. By 1985, the number of students in such teams increased to 830 thousand people. Students not only got good labor practices in their field, but also gained experience, learned to appreciate the work of others and adapt to society. The heyday of the movement of student construction teams in Tomsk Oblast came in 1970, their number reached 10 thousand then. The regional headquarters of construction student teams headed the Tomsk team that consisted of the city headquarters and 19 district and area teams, including those from other cities of the republics of the Soviet Union. In the 1990s, the movement of student construction brigades lost its organizational structure due to the fact that the extraordinary congress of the Young Communist League XXII told to disband the organization. Activities of the Central Headquarters of student brigades stopped. But in the beginning of the 21st century, the movement has again been claimed by young people and the government. In August 2009, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev raised the issue of the legal status of construction brigades (because student groups existed in the region in various forms) and recommended that the State Duma adopted amendments to the legislation to harmonize the status of the brigades. This year was the 50th anniversary for the movement of student teams in Russia and the former Soviet republics. The activities of student groups continue to develop in our area. In this respect, Tomsk State University, one of the oldest Russian universities and the first university in the Asian part of Russia, has a rich and eventful history.
