Special aspects of interconnection between socio-professional and personal-communicative characteristics of bailiffs

The article deals with the psychological aspects of professional activities of bailiffs. Their analysis enabled the authors to determine their important professional skills, a communicative skill being one of them. When studying the interconnection between the socio-professional and personal-communicative characteristics of bailiffs the following methods were used: Test of Communication Skills by L. Mykhelson (adapted by Yu. Gilbukh); the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (adapted by N.V. Grishina); the Hardness Lifestyle Test by S. Maddi (adapted by D.A. Leontieva & E.I. Rasskasova); the Mini-Mult test (adapted by V.P. Zaitseva). The research involved 37 bailiffs of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia in Tomsk Oblast at the age of 22-39. It has been established that in the course of their professional activities bailiffs often use a competence-based type of communication while in conflicts they prefer to compromise. A comparative analysis of bailiffs in terms of their age (young or experienced specialists) and the stage of work (adaptive, post adaptive and professional) enabled the authors to specify some personal-communicative characteristics that serve as prerequisites for the development of professional stress (difficulties in the communication sphere, affectability, emotional stresses, etc.). The obtained data helped to determine that the post adaptive stage of professional activities is a transitional phase from a "newbie" to a "professional". This phase is connected with some negative tendencies in the personal-communicative profiles of employees (stepped-up aggressiveness, decrease of activity involvement, etc.) since they have to re-examine themselves as professionals. The authors propose some strategies of a psychological follow-up and psychological help for bailiffs in order to prevent pre-deformations and professional burnout.
