The history of Siberian book publishing: specifics of the development of book publishing in Tyumen in the 1990s-2000s
Book culture is understood as one of the most effective forms of knowledge transmission. The main issue of this paper is the identification of genesis specifics in the domestic book publishing, considered on the example of book publishing development in Tyumen. The development tendencies of regional book publishing in Russia in the 1990s-2000s are analyzed. It is represented as a special form of reflection of general regularities in the context of the complicated economy transition to market conditions. The concept of this article is determined by the understanding of book publishing as a sociocultural phenomenon developing under the influence of an ideology functioning during a specific historical period, which causes the reflection of the hierarchical system of principles, ideals and society beliefs in the images of printed materials. It is affirmed that reading represents the basic component of human life promoting the formation of an intelligent world view. The methodology of the research is based on the application of a dialectic approach that allows considering book publishing as a unity existing in a variety of properties and relations. In the light of an axiological approach, book publishing is understood as activities directed to release and broadcast book products. The world of universal and individual, global and regional values is combined there. The application of a system approach allows revealing the features of the Tyumen book publishing in the 1990s-2000s as a developed component in the system of Siberian book publishing. It is shown that book publishing in Siberia represents a specific system being in dynamics, whose development is determined by sociopolitical and economic factors. In the presented article the necessity of book publishing for the person's activity implementation in the system of culture is recognized. It is shown that in modern society, the book as a way of transmission of knowledge exists alongside other media, and fulfils its specific cultural function. It is proved that the publishing of Tyumen in the 1990s-2000s is a certain part of book production in Siberia. The leading role among punlishing organizations of Tyumen belongs to publishing houses of the universities. In the context of the problem of determining the mechanisms of transmission of knowledge in the modern world, the revealed desire of publishers to satisfy the readers' needs at a high cultural level is essential.
