Frames as units forming the structure of the collective discursive world view of an internet fan community member
The given article contains a research about the role of frames - basic linguo-cognitive units - in the modeling of the discursive world view which is common for a specific group of communicants - members of a music fan on-line community. Frames as "highly formalized and encyclopaedic universal categories covering variety of human's knowledge and experience" reflect topics, values and communication aims that are unique for the specific discuursive world view type owner. According to the definition used by the author, the discursive world view is a "dynamic variable system of meanings that is formed in coordinated communicative actions of speakers and recipients in line with their system of values and interests included into social practice". Frame organization modeling which is relevant for the researched type of the linguo-cognitive construct allows to find the key to the understanding of its formation principles and the conditions and features necessary, including psychological, social, subcultural and others. Since the very concept of a discursive world view is considered to be comparatively new in modern linguistics, there still remain open the questions about its organization and functioning, as well as about the optimum set of different linguistic methods for its research. According to the author's hypothesis, frame modeling as a key instrument of linguo-cognitive analysis allows to identify and systematize basic constructs forming the world outlook and verbal communication of similar world view owners speaking within a specific discourse. The aim of the current research is to elicit key frames of the given discursive world view type and to analyze their influence upon communication in the specific discourse. The empirical basis is represented by texts of communication between members of an on-line fan community "Eric Saade [Official VK Group]" on the Russian social network site VK.com. The main method used in the research is frame analysis which aims to categorize both verbal and non-verbal content of communication within linguo-cognitive substructures forming a specific collective discursive world view. The result of the analysis is the frame organization of the discursive world view of a typical pop fan community member. The center of the system is the super-frame "Music Performer" which is fundamental for modeling the researched world view. The given super frame influences the formation of three main frames. The first one named "Fans" covers self-representation of communicants as individuals and members of the same subcultural community. The second frame "Fan Club" could be characterized as a mental model of the idea about the organization whose members they are and principles of its functioning. The third frame called "Activities" is represented by stereotypes about the types of events and actions which are relevant for communication between members in the given discourse. This frame could be divided into four subframes, each for a certain kind of activity. The constructed frame organization contains one more frame of the -called "over-structural" type named "Virtuality" correlated with the environment where communication takes place and organizing the conversations building in the researched discourse.
