Interpretation procedure in the contemporary natural science
The paper focuses on the problem of the specific character of interpretation procedure in natural science, its forms and limits for application. A range of factors is determined which conditioned expansion if not "replacement of the constituent mind by interpretative" in the contemporary natural science. First, it is affirmation of the constructivist schemes of cognition. Second, it is an update of the research of the science social structure. Third, a new type of objects - complex self-developing systems, the so called "human-dimension" objects - became a subject for cognition in the contemporary natural science. Philosophers fix a change of norms for reality cognition, which is reflected in the non-fundamentalist interpretation of knowledge, in relativization and humanization of cognition. The subject of cognition is interpreted as a cultural and historical product of communications rather than as the proximately given. As a result, the role of interpretation as a method of cognition in natural science has considerably increased. Is the contemporary science able to formulate the fundamental laws of nature, or are the attempts of the contemporary science to reveal the fundamental laws of nature significantly limited? Does interpretation confront the laws, does description confront explication? It is highlighted that at the current stage of science development we witness the convergence of natural science, humanities and social science. The methods representative for humanities and social sciences (interpretation, dialogue, individualizing method of historical cognition) being transformed and finding specificity are applied in natural science. Four aspects conditioning application of the interpretation procedure in the contemporary natural science: linguistic, gnosiological, constructivist and evolutionary, are revealed and analyzed. The linguistic aspect is conditioned by the nature of scientific knowledge where scientific facts are statements requiring certain processing and interpretation by our mind. The gnosiological aspect of interpretation procedure in natural science is conditioned by the role of perception, a fundamental act of cognition rendered as interpretation of sensual data in the evolutionary cognition theory. The constructivist aspect is conditioned by the fact that in postnon-classical science the process of cognition acquires a constructivist explanation, represented inter alia in the interpretational constructivism of Hans Lenk. The evolutionary aspect of interpretation procedure is determined by the contemporary science appeal to research of non-linearity, self-organization and evolution within the complexity paradigm.
