Physical activity and life quality of educational process subjects in the university: structural components and their assessment
This article discusses the problems of assessing the physical activity of subjects in the educational process aimed at improving their life quality. The research was intended to justify the current structure of physical activity and the quality of life of university students and professors, the criteria and levels of their assessment. A case study for the research was Amur State University. The following theoretical methods were used in the research: literature overview, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, as well as comparative studies to prove the criteria, levels of physical activity and quality of life for subjects of the educational process in the university. The theoretical analysis and the empirical study made it possible to identify the following structural components of physical activity of university students and professors which increased their life quality: motivational (needs, motives, and interests), theoretical knowledge about physical culture and sports, methodological skills and motor activity. To assess the quality of life of subjects of the educational process in the university, it was necessary to use two questionnaires: MOS SF-36 (Russian version of J.E. Ware, 1992) and the WHO QLQ-100 questionnaire. These questionnaires allowed estimating six values of spheres, twenty four values of subspheres, an estimate of the overall perception of the quality of life and health, and the total pooled estimate of the health-related quality of life of educational process subjects. Despite the fact that physical activity is aimed at maintaining and improving health, physical development, physical fitness and working efficiency, the issue of shaping physical activity of the participants of the educational process in the university has not been considered in terms of improving their life quality. This fact proves that the research is relevant enough. The process of shaping physical activity in the university should change from an external activity to the internal plan of consciousness. This process aimed at improving students' and professors' quality of life should be based on the reality and implemented through their vigorous activities. The results of this research can be used by scholars and university professors to argu-mentatively assess physical activity and the life quality of educational process subjects in the university.
