Scientific and methodological basis for improving the quality of vocational training for students of technical universities

The problem of the pedagogical expediency of using the method of rapid testing in the vocational training of students of technical universities is considered. It is argued that the method of rapid testing by means of "short message service" is the process of assessing the professional training of students of technical universities with minimal time, in an automated mode, with individual or group processing of results. This method provides systematic control and objective assessment of the quality of student preparation throughout the whole learning process using individual mobile communication devices. The features of the organization and the technology of rapid testing are revealed. It was also found that the development of pedagogical tools makes it possible to carry out a continuous and comprehensive monitoring of the process and results of training of students at technical universities promptly, objectively and effectively. The model of rapid assessment of the vocational training of students of technical universities by the method of rapid testing, including the theoretical-objective, structural-content, process-technological, didactic and evaluative-productive blocks, showed its effectiveness as an integral didactic system in the course of experimental verification. The main objective is to increase the efficiency of assessing the professional training of students in technical universities, and the result is an operational assessment of the students' learning of the teaching material. The hardware requirements have been identified and software has been developed for rapid testing using the "short message service" facility. To automate the learning process, one of the most successful solutions towards the development of universal systems was the technology of virtual devices based on the graphic programming environment of "National Instruments". The program for rapid testing "Instant Testing for Training" developed by the authors, protected by a certificate of state registration of the computer program No. 2011617140 dated September 13, 2011, is intended for rapid testing by means of "short message service" and increasing the assessment of the vocational training of students of technical universities. To create banks of test tasks, an additional converter application has also been created that converts databases from other programs into this program (certificate of state registration of the computer program No. 2014661151 of October 24, 2014). The technology of rapid testing is open, capable of developing. The hardware and software complex of this method can be updated depending on the needs of society and industry. Potential consumers can be not only technical universities, but also humanitarian ones, as well as secondary schools. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the rapid test method by the "short message service" means and the hardware and software complex for rapid testing by means of the "short message service" allows the teacher to communicate with students at the modern technological level, to make the learning process more attractive, emotional and efficient.
