Praxiological Understanding of the Values of Historical Consciousness

The article analyzes the peculiarities and contradictions of the interpretation of the problem of the values of historical consciousness in the post-metaphysical philosophy of history. It is shown that the active development of post-metaphysical philosophy exerted a significant influence on the subject, methods and structure of modern philosophy of history. The article substantiates the idea that overcoming totalizing thinking in post-metaphysical philosophy and value pluralism by no means signifies the impossibility of conceptualizing the problem of values of historical consciousness, as well as a certain classification of these values. The author shows that a "practical turn" in social knowledge and humanities, which opens up certain prospects for a praxeological understanding of the values of historical consciousness, acquires a huge role in this connection. Based on the ideas of the cultural-historical theory of L.S. Vygotsky and his followers, as well as some methodological provisions of the activity approach, an analysis of the values of historical consciousness is undertaken in the context of the goals of the activity that determine the person's value attitude to the past, in the context of the tools of evaluation and the results of this value relationship. It is concluded that values are the integral basis of historical consciousness, since historical consciousness is the mode of making sense for the experience of changes in time. The author substantiates the idea that within the framework of praxeological understanding the values of historical consciousness are a form of manifestation of historical identity and the result of practices of interpreting the value of historical consciousness. They also reflect the most basic expectations of a person and society in the process of forming a cultural unity of time and a certain configuration of the past, the future. The article makes an attempt to substantiate the fact that the leading guide for classifying the values of historical consciousness is the ways of activity in relation to the past in historical culture. They set the features and character of the interaction of value systems, their hierarchy, and also act as a medium for their dynamics. In the context of the praxeological approach, values such as historical truth as value, aesthetic beauty, historical justice and historical responsibility are distinguished. It is concluded that, in spite of the fact of mutual influence of these values on each other, it would be an essential simplification to assert the possibilities of their synthesis. The prospects of studying the formats of interaction and configurations of values of historical consciousness, which are formed as a result of transformation of socio-political and cultural contexts of the transfer of historical experience, are analyzed.
