Deformation of a Person's Legal Consciousness Under Bringing Discredit upon the Authorities in the Russian Federation

The authors of the article observe determinants of an emergence and expansion of bringing discredit upon the government in Russia, determine their influence on the deformation of a person, establish the degree of their impact on legal convictions of a person and the level of a person's legal consciousness. The study is based on a systematic and comprehensive approach in order to investigate the problem from the perspective of different sciences: jurisprudence, political science, psychology, pedagogics, sociology, philosophy. Works of outstanding Russian and foreign researchers, official information from the website of the President of the Russian Federation, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation were used in the study. The methodological basis for the study of bringing discredit upon the government and deformation of legal consciousness is composed of a dialectical method, general patterns of emergence, establishment and development of the state and legal phenomena, principles of comprehensiveness and histor-icism and general scientific methods of logical cognition (analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, determination, classification and comparison, analogy and generalisation). When providing rationalization for the relevance of the topic, the authors admit that bringing discredit upon the authority in Russia takes the lead in the state and society, it demands focused attention and a prompt response by the public and authorities. Legal consciousness is relevant for the Russian government and society; it promotes the legal culture of citizens, allows to secure social consciousness and statehood. In order to establish the relationship between bringing discredit and a person's legal consciousness, to determine the influence of discredit on deformations of legal consciousness, determinants of emergence and expansion of bringing discredit upon the authority in Russia were observed. Determinants (political, religious, cultural, socio-economic) were identified which have a significant impact on the legal consciousness of the citizens. A conclusion was made that these determinants adversely affect citizens' consciousness and promote deformations. In order to establish the level of legal reality distortion and the displays of deformations of a person's legal consciousness under bringing discredit upon the authority, the deformations of legal consciousness and their main forms. The authors classified legal consciousness deformations and defined discredited legal consciousness as an independent type of deformation. In addition, the authors described all forms of deformed legal consciousness and evaluated the impact of subjective and objective factors on the formation of deviations in an individual attitude towards law. The authors conclude that there is an influence of bringing discredit upon the government on deformations in legal consciousness; they propose a definition of discredited legal consciousness and reveal its features.
