The research methods were a theoretical analysis of the literature on the problem of vocational orientation and organization of extracurricular activities, a design and modeling method, an experiment. The course of the study is presented in three main stages. Stage 1 was the development by a team of young researchers of a model of interaction between educational organizations of general, supplementary, higher education and research and production enterprises based on the implementation of authorial technical education programs. The model is represented by a methodological, industrial, psychological, educational, informational, material, technical, educational and innovative units and contains criteria for the effectiveness of its implementation. Stage 2 was the approbation of the model on the basis of Lev Tolstoy Secondary School (Kaluga, RF) in its interaction with universities (Kaluga State University named by K.E. Tsiolkovsky, Bauman Moscow State Technical University) and the Galaktika Children and Youth Center for Space Education (Kaluga) (2016-2017). The study involved 20 students in grades 10-11, four teachers, three supplementary education teachers, five engineers, three methodologists. Stage 3 was the analysis of the results and formulation of conclusions. The specificity of the implementation of the model was the use of the following methods that contribute to the formation of adolescents' interest in technical professions: training in solving inventive problems, the method of "immersion" in a real scientific and technical project implemented at a research and production enterprise. As a result of the model implementation, the following results were obtained: (1) students' personal growth, formation of their vocational orientation, interest in technical professions, positive dynamics in the development of analytical thinking and formation of a responsible attitude to the choice of profession (data obtained through the use of a package of psycho-diagnostic techniques prepared as part of the study); (2) development of teachers' professional competence in the organization of extracurricular activities of a technical profile (data from a survey conducted); (3) creation of new educational, methodological and informational products (educational programs, a unified diagnostic information system, etc.). The study reveals the possibilities of extracurricular activities in ensuring the increase of the prestige of technical professions among students and demonstrates the potential for cooperation of educational organizations with scientific and technical enterprises in their organization.
