Deep Philosophy: An Experience of a Phenomenological Study
The article is devoted to the phenomenological analysis of deep philosophy as one of the directions of philosophical practice. The latter arose in the 1980s as an attempt to overcome the academic discourse of philosophy and return it to its original orientation to the inner world of a human being. The international group "Deep Philosophy" was founded in 2017 within the framework of a philosophical contemplative retreat, which was held according to the methodology of philosophical companionship. The group is based on the following principles: resonating with the philosophical text, resonating with the partner of the session, and creativity implemented on the basis of the first two. The origins of this movement, which contributes to the solution of the topical problem of overcoming surface existence by searching for depth, are linked to the concepts of E. Husserl, M. Heidegger and M. Mamardashvili. The contemporary American philosopher, R. Lahav, sees philosophy as a means that can support the existence of a human being of the 21st century. The disclosure, the enlightenment of being is the transcendental act of man, their unlocking, transcendence of themselves, transcensus. It is the attainment of transcendence that is the goal of deep philosophy. However, the authenticity of Dasein, according to Heidegger, takes place against the prevailing background of Das Man. Transcensus is temporary. Depth is a channel, a transmitter that connects me with the wide horizons of reality. In this context, Self is understood as an incomplete beginning, which finds itself in transcending, standing-on-the-limit and temporarily going beyond the limits, rather than as a closed unit. This is an understanding of oneself through the prism of the world (finding oneself); not an understanding of the world through the prism of the Self. Deep philosophy is one of the ways to respond to the search of the Self by the modern person in the conditions of the "parasitic", superficial existence of the contemporary majority; by referring to phenomenology as a way of awakening the Self and the creative beginning inside the Self. Referring to Husserl's methodology, it has been indicated that phenomenological reduction (epoche), is a way of constituting the Self as an integral part of the world, different from the diverse non-Self; it is an implied condition for practicing deep philosophy. In Heidegger's terminology, attention was focused on the concept of clearing, highlighting itself, the Self, and reality. The conceptual focus on thinking-at-the-limits was found in Mamardashvili's texts; among other things, the idea of the existential personal experiment carried out by the philosopher was formulated as an illustration of the creation of the original form of being the Self. Thus, the foundations of deep philosophy were formulated as a direction of philosophical practice as thinking in effort and tension with the purpose of understanding and finding the unique Self.
