Substantiation and approbation of the technology for designing the competence profile of a modern specialist in technical areas

The definition of the competence-based approach as the main methodology of vocational education in the Russian Federation necessitated the development of the content of a set of competencies for each level of education. In the field of higher and vocational education, the totality of a graduate's competencies is determined by the federal state educational standard, while the content of competencies is still controversial. The study aims to conduct a retrospective analysis of state educational standards as the main documents that determine the logic and content of vocational education; analyze modern pedagogical research and popular scientific publications in the field of assessing the compliance of domestic engineering personnel with international requirements and standards, as well as substantiating the need for the development of supra-professional competencies among students of a technical university; to test education aimed at the formation of supra-professional competencies, with positive dynamics, to introduce it into the educational process of the university. The methodological basis of the study was the competencebased and personality-activity approach. The authors carried out a retrospective analysis of the literature of domestic and foreign authors on the design of the competence profile of a modern specialist, and also conducted a study involving 128 students of the Industrial University of Tyumen, a branch in Nizhnevartovsk, studying in the Oil and Gas Business direction. The development of supra-professional competencies was monitored using selected standardized methodological assessment tools such as: the Assessment of the Abilities for Self-Development and Self-Education test by N.P. Lukashevich, the test for assessing critical thinking CTT-1. With the help of mathematical calculations, the degree of manifestation of indicators of analytically identified and theoretically substantiated supra-professional competencies in students was determined. The reliability of the experimental results was confirmed using the methods of mathematical statistics (x2 Pearson criterion). The authors have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to form and develop supra-professional competencies among students in technical areas as competencies of the 21st century, which ensure the graduate's success and competitiveness in the world labor market and high adaptability in changing conditions. It is empirically proved in the article that today students demonstrate an insufficient level of development of these competencies. The dynamics of the results obtained showed the reliability of differences in the level of development of supra-professional competencies of future specialists in the Oil and Gas Business field.
