Club system in higher education: Educational opportunities, organization, prospects
In the practice of universities there is a problem of developing modern and effective approaches to organizing a club system. These approaches should take into account the characteristics of the contingent of students at the university, modern educational technologies and the needs of the labor market. This study is aimed at forming the basic foundations of organizing a modern club system in higher education; developing scientific, methodological and diagnostic support for the Humanities Research Club at Tomsk State University's Faculty of Psychology. The Humanities Research Club as an extracurricular form of organizing the educational process for students of the Faculty of Psychology is presented as an organizational form that ensures the development of professional reflection. The research uses a historical and pedagogical analysis of the club system, an analysis of pedagogical and psychological literature, retrospective reconstruction, and psychological and pedagogical observation. The experimental base of the study is the Faculty of Psychology of the National Research Tomsk State University. The literature review showed that in the USSR a state system of extracurricular activities was formed, on the basis of which the approaches of modern Russia are built. The following features of a club organization are highlighted: informal communication, club theme, club style, age characteristics of participants, social space of the club, etc. The description of the empirical study outlines the stages of organizing the Humanities Research Club of the Faculty of Psychology: preparatory, main, and final. The preparatory stage included the formation of thematic blocks of classes, determination of scientific research methods. The main stage of organization describes the structure of the club class, the specifics of the club participants' application of the humanitarian research method, and the students' reflexive dynamics during the class. The final stage of organization is described as a process of summing up the work. The following criteria are proposed for assessing the productivity of the educational club: (a) involvement in the process of group discussion of participants' research, (b) conducting one's own research in the paradigm of the humanitarian approach, (c) publication of research results and/or their presentation at student scientific events. It is recorded that students begin to freely operate with semantic units in the analyzed materials and use phenomenological interpretations. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
