About some features of the group of abstract nouns of o-declension in the gothic language
The article presents an overview of the group of abstract nouns belonging to the o-declension type in theGothic language. This group includes only feminine abstract nouns characterized by both simple morphological structure and that withthe gothic suffix -i[)a-/-ida-. The abstract nouns in -6 are derived from verbs and adjectives and entered the language at different stagesof its history. The paradigm of the abstract nouns in this group was conditioned by the meaning of the stem-forming suffix -o- that wassubject to variation and in the gothic language could mean «alienation from subject».
