The river current from the country of slavs» (Volga according to the aravian geographers) VII-IX Centuries

This period in a history of the East Europe is marked by extreme scarcity of written monuments. Equally it concerns and to a history of the well-known water way «from vikings to arabs» (differently the Baltic-Caspian trading highway). And meanwhile VII-IX Centuries became time of becoming and formation of the well-known water trading way. Reconstruction of a history of the Baltic-Caspian trading high-way during the early Middle Ages plays the major role at the decision of a problem of interethnic contacts. The ethnocultural and trading relations in a life of peoples of the Baltic-Caspian trading highway are closely bound among themselves and have no precisely outlined borders. Volga, the Great Volga way - the most extended site of an ancient trading highway - was well-known to east geographers of that time. Due to their geographical works researchers have an opportunity to receive the valuable and extensive information, so necessary for reconstruction of a history of a way «from vikings to arabs» from the period of the early Middle Ages.
