U.S. Involvement in Indochina under President Kennedy Administration (1961-1963)
The article covers development of U.S. foreign policy decision-making for Vietnam. Goals of the Administration were the achievement of victory over liberation insurgency and formation of U.S. stronghold in the area. Different options proposed by foreign and military policy authorities to overcome crisis in South Vietnam are analyzed. At the end supporters of dictatorship prevailed and their plans of direct military involvement went into action.
