About the distribution of abstract nouns in the Old German noun declension system
The article presents some results of analysis of abstract nouns in the system of nominal declension in Gothic, Old High German and Old Icelandic. It discusses the main sources of abstract nouns word building as well as their word building patterns and means. It singles out the main tendencies in the word building of abstract nouns and the most productive suffixes in the three languages
