Bout of development of system professional tourist education and scientific maintenance spheres of tourism in the USSRand the Russian Federation
Evolution and transformations of system of scientific maintenance of tourist branch in the USSR and the Russian Federation from 1960s till 2008 are considered. The insufficiency of the scientific maintenance of the sphere of tourism is shown which results in the country's condition of the missed benefit because of the inefficient use of the richest cultural, historical and natural tourist potential. It is judged the necessity of the strengthening of the role of science in questions of definition of prospects of development of tourist branch regarding the historical experience of the countries - leaders of world tourism
