Stabat Mater in XVIII century: versions by two Neapolitan composers

Article is devoted to the history of origin and existence of the sequence Stabat mater in XVIII century. The author compares the musical perusals of two Neapolitan composers: G.Pergolesi and A.Scarlatti. Comparing the identical products, the author makes an attempt to reveal some features of the qualities of the «old» (the beginnings of XVIII century) and the new, «opera» styles
