Children-orphans and forms of their disposition in the Chuvash community
In the article the author describes the preconditions of the formation and development of the care system over children in Chuvashia in the second half of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century. Special role was given to the guardianship. Basically, the Chuvashes would not place the children of their community into the orphanages, but would bring illegitimate children, minors, and children of their relatives into their families to provide them with support and care.
