Emotional expectation in the emotional sphere structure

Emotion characterizes realities to consciousness and acts of consciousness. To correlate these various understandings of emotion it is not enough to use the phenomenological description of emotion. It is necessary to reveal the correlation of various forms of emotionality according to the dialectics of the emotional sphere. Emotion is the experience of any content in duration. Therefore it is possible to understand emotion only in the duration structure. Duration reveals in consciousness as a form of a course of events. The comprehension of duration itself is the event, which is constituted by two factors of consciousness - effort and experience. Effort represents an active potentiality, which is actualized in consciousness and exposes as duration in the form of a stream of events. Efforts are elements that assume and direct the consciousness stream: attention, expectation, concentration on memories, etc. Effort as an active potentiality is embodied in other in relation to itself. This other is different in relation to effort just as meon - "non-real" - is different in relation to the essence. Therefore it is designated by the concept of psychical meon. The psychical meonality is the passive potentiality of the psychical sphere, which is actualized only due to effort. Efforts generate events of a psychical life due to their embodiment in the psychical meon and find their concrete pithiness in the form of emotion, which becomes a form of experience of other events generated by these efforts. Therefore it is possible to define emotion as a form of effort's experience and emotion as a form of experience of events and phenomena to be perceived. In the first case emotion becomes a characteristic of a directed act of consciousness (intentional emotionality), in the second case it is a characteristic of the reality of consciousness phenomena (emotionality of psychohyletical realities). Any effort is anticipated by emotional expectation that this effort might spontaneously actualize emotional experience not corresponding to the intention of this effort. This emotional expectation anticipates the spontaneous and non-controllable character of occurrence and course of emotion. But as this character is a consequence of emotional potentiality, emotional expectation thus correlates with emotional potentiality. Emotional expectation can correlate both with the potential and with the actual content. If emotional experience correlates with the actual content it has a character attendant to empirical perception or speculation without influencing on a cognizable subject. If emotional expectation correlates with emotional potentiality it defines formation of a mental life.
