In the given article expressive means of language in the feuilleton - a genre withspecial communicative tasks in which author's themes are developed for the account of various deformations, inversion effect, displacementof estimated aspects from the real plane to the comic one are considered. Such expressive means of language in Yu. Oleshasfeuilletons are of special interest taking into account the importance of this genre as an operative authors reaction to present problems. Two types of the comic are traditionally allocated: ridiculous in words, for example, paraphrases or puns, and ridiculous in subjects (thecomedy genre is based on it as a ridiculous representation of the plot). In Yu. Oleshas feuilletons both ways of creation of the comiceffect are used. The ridiculous-in-words principle is realised, in particular, in the feuilleton Love and the Code about Work: the plot ofinfringement of the rights of the worker because of the lovers is not at all funny, but the comic effect is created by expressive means oflanguage. One of the frequent ways of creation of the comic effect in Yu. Oleshas feuilletons is the ironic diminishing hint. For example, his feuilleton On Drunk Business courageously enough for those years contains a widely known slogan Proletarians of all countries, unite! is used. It is possible to note one of Yu. Oleshas most favourite devices - a pun when pairs of homonyms or lexicosemanticvariants are used in close contexts. Such a device is used, for example, in the feuilleton Boots and Bubbles: sapog (highfootwear) and sapog (an ignorant person not understanding something), khrom (soft leather tanned by chromic salts) and khrom(ashort adjective form of lame). Contemporaries named Olesha the king of metaphors, and he completely justified this rank. In creativeworks of the writer, there are the so-called trite metaphors - stamps, standards, deprived of figurativeness, but preserving their meaningand expressiveness. Besides, Yu. Olesha often uses personification and objectification, in particular, in his poem Till the Victorywhich was written for the anniversary of the newspaper Gudok. Thus, it is necessary to note Yu. Oleshas steadfast interest to the roleof graphic-expressive means of language in creation of essays, in particular, feuilletons.
