Specificity of organizing physical education in high schools of military departments

Training in high schools of military departments has the specificity due to the necessity of preparation of expertswhose professional competence is directly caused by the quality of their physical shape and mental stability. The optimum level of cardiovascular,respiratory and muscular systems conditions, coordination and speed of actions, especially in extreme situations are alsoessential for their successful professional work. Students of many military high schools are confined to barracks (except females andseniors in some educational institutions), which includes residing at a hostel, and observing an accurate daily routine. Besides, in similarhigh schools a considerable portion of time is occupied with obligatory official activity - works in campus, internal duties, much time isgiven to drilling cadets. Obligatory time, besides actual studies, is spent on self-education, including independent physical training. Forexample, high school of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - a specific educational institution focused not only on actual development ofthe profession, for example, a lawyer, but also on getting special training necessary for the employee of law-enforcement bodies, thereforecadets should take the bases of professionally applied physical training, including their independent trainings. The main objective ofphysical education in high schools of similar profile is maintenance of the necessary level of development of physical and mental qualitiesof trainees (including the special skills caused by the specificity of the future job), strengthening of somatic health, resistibility increaseto negative factors during official duties performance. Activity in extreme conditions demands a high level of development ofvarious kinds of motor reaction from the employee. The important role is thus played by the following kinds of reactions: simple motorreaction - a prompt reply with a learnt movement on a signal; distinction reaction - a fast choice of the necessary motor answer to anumber of possible signals; reaction of switching - an ability to quickly and precisely switch from one motor reply to another. Goodreaction especially at urgent tasks performing is one of the indicators of high qualification of employees of the criminal-executive system.The worker of the penitentiary system needs, in our opinion, primary development of dexterity, speed, force, power endurance,formation of preparedness for hand-to-hand fight with prisoners, development and mastering of firmness in an adverse effect of the limitedmotor activity and working capacity maintenance at official duties performance, and education of unity and perfection of skills ofcollective actions against big physical and mental loads.
