Energy-efficient infrastructure in a region as a condition of its transition to sustainable development
Infrastructuralsector plays a special role in the modern development of regional systems, which consists in creating conditions for the productionand marketing support for social and economic system functions and could be due to the characteristics of inertia as an engine ofregional development in the case of infrastructure-led growth for future planned scope of the expanded regional reproduction that canalso be seen as one of the conditions for sustainable development in the region. The main problems of regional development and primarilytheir infrastructure are significant moral and physical wear and tear on the infrastructure networks, as well as techniques and technologiesused in the production of infrastructure services and infrastructure objects. Most of these facilities are funded in part throughregional budgets (because of their high social and economic importance in the implementation of the reproductive processes in the region),this condition leads to a significant strain on the budget and impede the implementation of reforms in this area aimed at transitionof economic actors in infrastructure sectors to market competitive conditions and improving the quality of services available to the publicand business infrastructure services. This problem may be subject to design and implementation at the regional level of mass transitionstrategies to energy-efficient technology infrastructure to improve efficiency in energy production infrastructure services by optimizingtheir processes. The strategy should take into account the need to grow the region's infrastructure for effective functioning andsustainable development of regional socio-economic system that can be achieved through step-by-step, clearly planned transition toenergy-efficient and environmentally sound technologies. Its implementation will help to get a range of effects on a regional scale, suchas improving the environmental situation in the region, intensifying the development of regional economy, increased infrastructuralcapacity for further growth in production and development of the region's economy, improving the efficiency of economic actors ininfrastructure sectors. In addition, infrastructural development will affect the upward income trend for regional budgets by increasing thetax base, the quality and accessibility of services of infrastructure for people and business. It also indirectly affects the improving investmentclimate in the region and creating a favorable business environment by providing cheaper and high-quality infrastructure andincreasing the speed of turnover of capital both in infrastructure and non-infrastructure sectors of the economy of the region by increasing the capacity of transport and logistics networks. Therefore, implementing energy efficiency policies in the region can also be seen asa source of sustainable development.
