Effect of therapeutic physical culture studieson the functional state of students

Remedialphysical education (gymnastics) is an independent scientific discipline, used to treat and prevent various diseases by means of physicalculture. Activities of this discipline are effective in the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance of the level of health ofpeople with diseases of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive systems, musculoskeletal system, diseases of eyes, etc. A disease suppressesand disorganises the locomotor activity - an indispensable condition of the normal formation and functioning of any living organism,so physical therapy is a very important element in treating a disease. In 2010, Tomsk State University organized a group ofmedical physical culture for students with significant variations in health. Classes were held twice a week and last 75 minutes each. Thedoctor admits students to these classes. Before each class the teacher was interested in students health condition: blood pressure andheart rate were measured. During and after the classes control measurements of heart rate and blood pressure were conducted. The activityconsisted of introductory, core and final parts. The program of study included 19 people engaged in group therapeutic physical culture.The groups were mixed according to the disease. To evaluate the effectiveness of training, a study was conducted of the functionalstate of the respiratory and muscular systems of students. The respiratory function was assessed by measuring lung capacity with dryspirometer. The function of the muscular system was assessed by measuring the power index using a dynamometer. The study foundthat one semester is a slight increase in performance in the vital capacity and an unreliable power reduction index. It is known that at theend of the semester, with the development of persistent fatigue, the activity of students in the classroom is reduced because of the evolvingprocess of protective inhibition. The dynamics of the learning process with its uneven distribution of loads and intensification duringthe exam period is a kind of test for students organisms. A reduction in the functional stability of the physical and psycho-emotionalstress increases the negative impact of hypodynamia, violations of labour and rest, sleep and nutrition. Thus, a slight increase in lungcapacity indicates the correct selection of tools and methods used in classes of therapeutic physical culture conducive to the normalizationof the respiratory function
