Role of figurative language means in modelling of B. Poplavskiys poetic world view
B.Yu. Poplavskiy is a brilliant representative of the second generation of young Russianemigrants. Poplavskiys lyric poetry is extremely vivid; therefore, in his poetry there are many metaphors, similes, epithets andpersonifications. In this work various figurative language means were examined used in the authors lyrics to express his poetic worldview. The analysis of figurative language has shown that in Poplavskiys lyrics among lexical means, the most common is languagemetaphor, image-bearing word proper and authors metaphor. To a lesser degree of frequency are phraseological common languagemeans and similes, which, in turn, are divided into the authors and the settled ones. Very often units occur, the figurative meaning ofwhich includes representation from the metaphorical fields-sources of Man and Animal The central conceptual area of the fieldsourceMan includes the frames of social interaction and mans movement, that are mostly used. Images of animals are metaphoricallyprojected onto a variety of aspects of reality: nature, man, transport, seasons, etc., and they present, in general, figurativeanalogy with the bird. In this field-source the majority of imaginative units reflect the flight of this creature. To a lesser degree of frequencyare images of artefacts, natural phenomena, sensory indicators (tactile, visual and gustatory) as well as sounds, colours, and mythology.B. Рoplavskiys artistic worldview is a conceptual system of interrelated figurative images. The authors world concentratesaround two contrasting spatial areas, earth, where the main role is played by man, and sky, represented by the birds image. Poplavskiysworldview struggles between two worlds: the world of man - Earth - where everything comes alive and moves, goes, slides, floats, and the world of birds - sky - which is the image of unlimited freedom and lightness. Since anthropomorphisms and zoomorphismsmodel the world through movement (mans or birds) it may seem that Poplavskiys world is very mobile, but in fact the globalmood of recreancy from life reigns here. Indeed, the world is mobile in its parts, but this movement leads to immobility, that is death.
