Body of person as mnemoorganic device
The author of the article considers material and spiritual culture to be based on somatic experience. The human body is a source of any invention, besides, it serves as a basis of social norms and moral values. In the article the authorconsiders a person's body as a reservoir of cultural memory, naming it a symbolic organic device. As it is generally known, mnemotechnics, from Pythagoras's time, is a technique of memorizing. In a person's body socially significant information is speciallystored, preserved and reproduced. Everything that dips into a human body becomes its property. Basing on the research of a well-knowndomestic culture expert V.N. Romanov about the sympractical type of a culture, the author proves that originally it was a person's bodywhere the culture found its first specific reservoir of accumulating and preserving experience and knowledge. The sympractical typeof culture supposes such a way of preserving and broadcasting information where it is sent by means of objective schemes of actionsrooted in a person's body. Societies, having no written language, for which sympracticalness was a leading feature, had no way ofsharing social important experience separate from the body. The author underlines that modern theoretical cultures with a developedsystem of information channels reproduce a former corporal way of preserving and broadcasting information. For the theoretical type ofculture it is necessary to reconstruct the cognitive operations of community members. This necessity is connected with the increase ofpersonal unconditioned attitudes to the actions, which is reached by means of school education, the ability to abstract from directsensory experience and to occupy the position of an ideal observer. Modern society state, new information channels, cognitivepreferences of the theoretical type of culture do not discharge the reference of people to their corporal experience and bodilyknowledge. If a person needs to answer the question What? , he will search for the definition of some objects through others in hismemory, will abstract from his sensor areas and address to the ideal schemes developed by culture. But if it is necessary to answer aquestion Why?, the reasoning is a different one. The demonstration of actions by corporal mode is more preferable. In the first place itconcerns those spheres of human activities where the role of bodiness is particularly obvious. The author appeals to the analysis ofsporting activity and underlines that in numerous kinds of sport martial arts the models of sporting actions are solidly inculcated in asportsman's body. The author also insists on the fact that modern Olympism exceptionally bases on the system of values of Europeanculture and standards of European bodiness. Introduction of new contests into the system of the Olympic movement is possible only atthe expense of reorganizing ethical and regional games into the European manner that includes the obligatory measurements of results, bureaucratic organization, specialization, etc.
