Condition of ultra-violet radiation in northwestern part of Altai territory
Ultra-violet (UV) radiation is the most biologically active part of solar radiationand makes an essential impact on a human body. UV radiation in moderate doses is necessary for the person. It gives tempering andmedical effect, raises protective forces of an organism, the general tone, which defines the use of UV irradiation in the cure-andprophylacticpurposes. Abundance or lack of UV irradiation makes a negative impact on health of the person, promotes occurrence ofvarious diseases. The changes of UV radiation in areas А+В (lengths of waves of 315-400 nm) and B (lengths of waves of 280-315 nm)are studied. In the research the condition of UV radiation in the northwestern part of Altai region is described and the possibility ofcarrying out solar therapy in this area is estimated. This territory is a popular vacation spot and is perspective for further development ofrecreational activity. The period with ultra-violet deficiency (about 25 months) at latitude 53° n. l. does not exert essential influence on ahuman organism. The period with possible biologically active solar radiation when beams possess biological activity lasts 8.3 months. The real period with biologically active solar radiation, which is defined by the number of clear days, is about one and a half times lessthan possible. By the results of the research of variability of the daily sums and intensity of direct, diffuse and total UV radiation in theclear sky conditions it is established that its presence is basically caused by the geographical latitude and depends on the sun height: thehigher is the sun, the richer are its rays in UV radiation. Cloudiness closing the disk of the sun reduces UV radiation. By the presence ofUV radiation the territory belongs to the zone of UV comfort with traces of ultra-violet deficiency in the middle of winter. The analysisof average monthly values of intensity of UV radiation in area B has shown that the period of possible solar therapy is 6 months - fromApril till September. The intensity of UV radiation at midday during this period make up 80 w/m2 and more. The duration of the periodof optimum sun therapy (values of UV radiation intensity at midday reach 160-240 w/m2) is 4 months - from May till August. Duringthis period, by temperature conditions, it is real sun therapy in the open air. The results of the research allow making scientifically wellgroundedrecommendations about the duration of solar and sky baths in the northwestern part of Altai region. Research has shown thatsolar resources allow receiving solar therapy in this area and create favourable conditions for expansion of health resort and recreationalbase existing in Altai region.
