Dear authors and readers,
Published No. 69, 2025 of the scientific journal "Bulletin of Tomsk State University. Biology". Issue 69 is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Department of Genetics and Cell Biology of Tomsk State University.
In 1931, the first department of plant selection, cytology and genetics beyond the Urals was opened at the Imperial Siberian University under the direction of Vladimir Petrovich Chekhov (1898–1937). In August 1948, scientific research and student teaching at the department were suspended and the department was closed. It was restored in 1964 thanks to the efforts of Nadezhda Nikolaevna Kartashova (1907–1998), a student of V.P. Chekhov. Since then, the department has continued its active work. The main areas of activity are plant and animal cytogenetics, microbiology, and more recently, genomics, engineering biology and biotechnology.
We invite you to familiarize yourself with the contents of the issue on the journal's website (Archive). The authors' articles were attached to their personal accounts.
