Welcome note from the Vice-Chairman

Dear colleagues!

In October National Research Tomsk State University (TSU) successfully defended it's Road Map as one of 12 Leading Russian universities in Moscow at the RF Ministry of Science and Education and we selected new TSU Rector – Eduard Galazhinsky as well. I actively participated in the Road Map development and defence procedure. So, now we are waiting for big changes at the University.
As for me personally, I will completed my administrative job as a Vice Rector for International Affairs soon (at the end of November or February depending on situation), instead of that I'm going to place myself at the head of the Centre BIO-CLIM-LAND (Biota-Climate-Landscapes) – one of 5 Centers of Excellence we are going to establish and develop in our University at the framework of Competitiveness Improvement Program of National Research Tomsk State University. We are going to involve distinguished foreign scientists/experts to this Centre (part time job of course). TSU Administration will support the Centre from the Government Subsidy for Competitiveness Improvement Program of National Research Tomsk State University (about 15 millions roubles per year). I believe that could be a good condition for development of our cooperation.
At the framework of this Multidisciplinary platform we also are going to promote a new scientific journal BioClimLand (Biota, Climate, Landscapes).
