Morphology of spores and moss-capsules of some species of sphagnous mosses met at the territory of West-Siberian plain
The article gives a description and analysis of both spores and moss-capsules morphology mosses of the sections Insulosa Isov., Rigida (Lindb.) Schlieph., Sphagnum (Palustria C. Jens.) and Squarrosa (Russ.) Schimp. of the genus Sphagnum L., found on the territory of the West-Siberian plain. Investigations into the spore morphology were carried out with the SEM-method. The spores of the investigated species are applied to middle ones (20-25 mcm): S. aongstroemii, S. magellanicum, S. palustre, S. squarrosum and big ones (> 25 mcm): S. compactum, S. papillosum. 'The equatorial fold is more or less clearly expressed in representatives of the section Rigida, Squarrosa and Sphagnum, in the species of the section Insulosa - it is not revealed. According to the character of exosporium sculpture in species of the sections Sphagnum and Squarrosa - they are papillous, in species of the sections Insulosa and Rigida - papillous-knobby. The surface of the exosporium with weakly expressed granularity is marked in S. aongstroemii, S. magellanicum, S. palustre, S. squarrosu, S. papillosum and with clearly expressed granularity - in S. compactum. The ripe moss-capsules of the species under investigation are of brown and dark-brown colour. The spores of S. aongstroemii and S. palustre are yellow, in other species red or with red tinge.
